Having started a consistent yoga practice after suffering in a debilitating car accident in the 1990s, Fawntice knows the physical and mental healing benefits of yoga and meditation firsthand and made it a life’s purpose to help empower others to relieve their various sufferings. She currently teaches yoga at her alma mater YogaWorks as well as various studios and venues around the Los Angeles area. From a generous and compassionate heart, Fawntice's asana instruction emphasizes the challenge of exploring alignment in the body accompanied with the magic of breath work. This moving meditation transforms into a still meditation, and from there, all else begins to flourish.

Also an accomplished flautist known for her diverse performance abilities and beautiful tone, Fawntice McCain is a recipient of The Los Angeles Philharmonic Excellence in Diversity Fellowship, a winner of The Crane New Music Festival National Solo Competition in New York, and first place winner of the Beem Foundation Solo Music Competition. In recent years she has been a member of Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra, voted LA Weekly’s Best World Music Ensemble in 2003 and 2005 and recorded on Meta Records, and "Music For Like Instruments, The Flutes" a flute quartet headed by jazz and improvisation instrumentalist Vinny Golia, recorded on his Ninewinds records. More recently, Fawntice has the pleasure of performing with the renowned Los Angeles Flute Orchestra along with some of the most talented flute players in Los Angeles. Fawntice received a Masters Degree in Flute Performance and Integrated Media in 1999 from The California Institute of the Arts, and is currently applying her unique degree as a composer and recording artist in the mobile media industry.

A karma yogini, Fawntice enjoys raising funds for and bringing awareness to her favorite charity organizations. In 2005 she produced and performed in a successful classical music concert, raising over $1,400 for Save The Children. She also participated in “Sit For Change”, a meditation marathon to raise funds for Save The Children, Sierra Club and Amnesty International among other organizations. She most recently co-authored a presentation regarding yoga therapy as a complimentary and/or alternative medicine for HIV, presented at UCLA in association with The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and supported by the Center for HIV Identification Prevention and Treatment Services (CHIPTS). She is a volunteer yoga instructor for the YMCA.
